Sky Garden

Restaurant | London | England | United Kingdom

The "Sky Garden" in London, England, is much more than just a restaurant - it is a unique experience that combines exquisite cuisine with stunning views of the British capital. Located in the top floors of the iconic "Walkie-Talkie" building, officially known as 20 Fenchurch Street, the Sky Garden offers a mix of lush indoor garden, viewing platforms, and several dining options. Within this spectacular complex, there are two restaurants - the Darwin Brasserie and the Fenchurch Restaurant - as well as two bars, the Sky Pod Bar and the City Garden Bar, creating a variety of food and drink options. This summary focuses on the restaurants and highlights their unique features.

The Darwin Brasserie, located on the 36th floor, is a vibrant, all-day dining restaurant specializing in modern British cuisine with seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with a focus on fresh, locally-sourced products prepared with care. A popular dish here is the grilled Dover sole, served with a delicate lemon butter sauce - an example of the uncomplicated yet refined cuisine that sets the Brasserie apart. The breakfast menu also impresses with a creamy avocado toast on freshly baked sourdough bread, showcasing simple elegance. The large windows offer an unparalleled view of the Thames and London skyline, making dining a visual and flavorful delight.

The Fenchurch Restaurant on the 37th floor elevates the culinary experience to a higher level. Fine dining takes center stage here, with a focus on contemporary British cuisine enriched with Caribbean influences - a tribute to Chef Kerth Gumbs' heritage. The decor is elegant and botanical-inspired, with plants enhancing the feel of a garden in the sky. An outstanding dish is the "Jerk Salmon Ceviche", where fresh salmon is refined with a spicy marinade that brings a touch of exoticism. Equally impressive are the "Whiskey BBQ Wings", served with a smoky, sweet glaze and perfectly complemented by one of the handmade cocktails mixed by an award-winning team. For meat lovers, there are juicy grilled steaks, such as the aged sirloin, which stands out for its tenderness and intense flavor. The Fenchurch also offers an excellent selection of wines to complement the dishes.

Both restaurants stand out for their location, offering not just a meal but a complete experience. The Sky Garden itself is an architectural masterpiece with a 360-degree view that includes landmarks like the Tower Bridge, The Shard, and St. Paul's Cathedral. While dining, one can feel the vibrant energy of London below, adding a special touch to every visit. The Sky Pod and City Garden bars complement the experience with a relaxed alternative for those who prefer to enjoy a drink. A highlight here is the "Sky Garden Spritz", a refreshing cocktail with citrus notes that perfectly matches the view.

The restaurants prioritize quality and diversity, with options for various dietary needs, including vegetarian and vegan dishes. The Darwin Brasserie is more family-friendly and ideal for a casual visit, while the Fenchurch Restaurant, with its upscale atmosphere and stricter dress code, caters to a more sophisticated audience. Both offer the opportunity to combine dining with a stroll through the lush garden of the Sky Garden, which creates a sense of nature amidst the urban environment with tropical plants and blooming terraces.

The "Sky Garden" experience is unique for its combination of cuisine and spectacular location. It is aimed at visitors who not only want to eat well but also experience the beauty of London from a new perspective. Whether for a romantic dinner, breakfast with friends, or a special occasion, the restaurants in the Sky Garden offer an unforgettable setting and cuisine that pampers both the palate and the soul.

Security is poor Entrance system poorly managed, total shambles. Ground floor Lobby Crowded to the point of feeling unsafe and this is before you get to the security check before the lifts . Can’t add photo as photography not permitted here One bag X-ray machine screen not even switched on. The Guard supervising this screen on his phone watching social media. One lift out of order . It’s a farce Even worse - the queue to leave sky garden snakes around the first level and the wait to leave is estimated to be 45 - 55 mins long. Don’t co

Amazing views, better food, good drinks. Service could be better, but there are a lot of tourist that just go up for the views and it’s for free, so they do get stressed out by that, and it’s very reasonable taking into account that we were just 20 people having dinner and around 80 walking around.
